We’re helping young people everywhere build body confidence and self-esteem. As part of this, we want to teach you how to build self-confidence in children, so they can learn the importance of being kind to themselves and others. We’ve teamed up with Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe to create a series of six short animated films to show children the importance of finding confidence in yourself. In this episode, Stevonnie teaches us how to celebrate and appreciate our amazing bodies – inside and out.
We’ve partnered with award-winning show, Steven Universe. The show — which follows the magical Crystal Gems and their half-human, half-Gem “little brother” Steven — deals with topics of identity, inclusivity and body positivity. Each Dove-Self Esteem Project x Steven Universe episode will show young people the importance of finding out how to appreciate your body beyond its appearance. If a young person you know is struggling with their appearance, teach them about the incredible things our bodies can do with confidence-boosting activities and focus on who people are instead of how they look.
Working with experts from the fields of psychology, health and media, the Dove Self-Esteem Project has developed a range of resources to help guide parents in boosting confidence in children. As well as helping you understand how your kids are feeling, our materials will help you teach them how to develop a positive relationship with themselves and the world around them.
