At Dove, we believe every girl should feel confident about herself, but our latest research shows that 1 in 2 girls aren’t happy with the way they look. That’s why we’re helping 40 million young people build self-esteem and positive body confidence through educational programmes planned up to 2020.
To celebrate The International Day of the Girl 2017, we’re raising awareness of how low self-esteem and body confidence can impact young people. Since the launch of the Dove Self-Esteem Project in 2004, we’ve been working hand-in-hand with teams of psychologists, researchers and NGOs to develop educational programmes on the topics of appearance, relationships, media & celebrities, and bullying. These programmes are delivered by teachers, our dedicated partners – such as The World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts – and directly by parents. And they have been proven to make a genuine difference to girls’ confidence across the Philippines.
