    Keep it moisturized.

Natural black hair loves moisture as it’s naturally prone to dryness. The key is to nourish it thoroughly during their wash routine. Avoid products that can dry it out and try not to over wash their hair. To provide the best care, opt for a gentle cleanser like our Hair Love Kids Care Moisturizing Shampoo. It’s specially designed to care for natural Black hair.

Make conditioner their hair’s best friend.

Caring for Black hair is a moment of self-care and we want to make every moment of self-care count for you and your kids. Conditioner is an important step in textured hair care routines. We recommend Dove Hair Love Kids Care Nourishing Conditioner, which works to hydrate and nourish natural Black hair.

    Use a detangling comb.

Naturally coily and curly hair easily tangles and is more prone to breakage. Using a detangling comb after conditioning your kids’ hair (while it’s still wet) helps to disperse the product from the roots to the ends and it helps keep natural Black hair strong and moisturized.

Wrap your kids’ hair in a T-shirt after washing.

Kids’ hair is delicate, but even more so when wet. To avoid breakage post-washing, gently squeeze water out of their hair with your hands before wrapping it in a cotton T-shirt or a microfiber towel. This helps to prevent unnecessary friction and frizz in coily and curly hair.

Apply a post-washing styling cream for nourishing hydration.

As we’ve learnt, natural Black hair and textured hair love moisture. Keep their hair moisturized by applying a hydrating leave-in conditioner after washing, or use a styling cream to keep it nourished between washes. Dove Hair Love Kids Care Styling Curl Cream is specially formulated for textured hair, and enhances kids’ hair’s natural curl pattern.
