Teasing and bullying – How can words make us feel? Amethyst and Jasper learn how to talk about bullying.
We’re on a mission to help young people everywhere build confidence and self-esteem so they can embrace their authentic selves, make lasting friendships, and reach their full potential. As part of this, we want kids to understand the importance of appreciating their bodies – not just for what they look like, but for what they’re capable of, too. So, we’ve teamed up with Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe to create a series of six short animated films to help kids build confidence. In this episode, Smoky Quartz and Sardonyx talk about positive body image and discover how unique they are.
We’ve teamed up with Steven Universe. Following the magical Crystal Gems, and their half-human, half-Gem “little brother”, Steven, it shows young people the power of unconditional love and acceptance. Every Dove Self-Esteem Project x Steven Universe episode covers important topics that will help children’s self esteem and show kids the importance of being happy with yourself. We believe that no young person should be held back from reaching their full potential. If a young person you know is struggling with their looks, talk openly about all of their wonderful inner qualities and the amazing things their body can do.
I’d hate to think that comparing yourself to me might have hurt your chance for you to be you.
Sardonyx
Working with experts from the fields of psychology, health and media, the Dove Self-Esteem Project has developed a range of resources to help guide parents, teachers and mentors in building self-esteem in children. So, if you’re wondering ‘why do we compare ourselves to others?’ and ‘what does body image mean?’, our resources will be there with you every step of the way.
