Growing up in Indonesia, Annisa saw only one view of beauty; she dressed and looked like the other girls around her. It wasn’t until she experienced first-hand how other cultures celebrated different body shapes, skin colours and fashion that she realized how diverse beauty can be.
Travelling to other countries and seeing the beauty that existed in different forms around the world allowed her to understand and appreciate her own beauty more. Now she expresses herself with color, wearing fabrics and patterns from her travels. She believes that her most beautiful moment was when she was pregnant for the first time. Watching her body change made her realize its beauty. Now a mother of three, she sees the beauty in her children and in being their mother.
