Introducing the Dove Self-Esteem Project Youth Board

Meet the Dove Youth Board – our global community of over 20+ inspiring young leaders. Representing 5 continents, they bring together a diverse range of powerful voices to challenge how body image is viewed in society today. The Youth Board help us shape the Dove Self-Esteem Project,

which has reached 82 million young people globally so far, through real insights and experiences and advocate for women and girls so they can reach their full potential. Meet just a few of our inspiring leaders below and download the Confidence kit to help us reach 250 million young people by 2030.

We’ve teamed up with Refinery29 to celebrate nine young activists and the incredible steps they’re taking to improve the future – for us today and for generations to come. From sustainability and period poverty to body positivity and more, discover how they empower women, girls and non-binary individuals in their communities.

Katherine Wang - Currently a senior high school student and Plan member, Katherine also works with young kids and adolescents as a swim instructor. She is Interested in exploring the various factors that influence body image."

Mitchell Johnathan - A second year student at Africa University, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in International Relations, and WAGGGs member Mitchell is passionate about human rights & advocacy for girls”

Ikram Laimeche - Holding a Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature studies, and member of WomenDeliver, Ikram is a Digital University Facilitator for Women Deliver, passionate about women’s right, interested in how we express ourselves through our clothes, body positivity & self-acceptance"

Kesavi Kanagasabai - A first-year student pursuing a MSc in Medical Biophysics at Western University and Plan member, Kesavi is passionate about women empowerment through STEM & intercultural movements, at both a local and local level"

Ornella Ohoukoh - Currently studying programming and web technologies, and a WomenDeliver member Ornella is a Financial Accountant and founder of She Advocacy. She is also a global advocate of the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth UNMGCY, and hosts the SafeMentalTalk podcast"

Rifa Tamanna - A first-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Management Engineering at the University of Waterloo and Plan member, Rita is passionate about leveraging technology to create a positive social impact"

Emily Milton Smith - A globally recognised gender advocate & non-formal education specialist, member of WAGGGs and WomenDeliver, Emily is the National Governance and Programs Manager for a leading youth education charity & serve on several Boards and Committees in the youth & gender sectors"

Patricia Ngwale - An Associate Lecturer at Blantyre International University and Founder of Save A Life Foundation, and WAGGGs member, Patricia is passionate about human rights in particular advocating for gender equality & empowerment of girls & women"

Madeline Wells - Currently an Aboriginal Support Officer at TasTAFE and WomenDeliver member, Madeline is passionate about everything to do with human rights & justice, in particular decolonising structures"

Asmita Ghosh - A freelance communications consultant in the gender justice space & member of WomenDeliver, Asmita is passionate about challenging unhealthy beauty ideals & committed to changing the world to empower girls"

Chun Wei Fang - A passionate & energetic activist, keen to challenge outdated stereotypes, Chun Wei currently works with Girl Scouts of Taiwan as a project lead as well as serving as an international committee board member"

Riti Nawroz - Currently a first year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of British Columbia and Plan member, Riti is passionate about social, environmental & economic justice."

Linda Le - A Bachelor of Commerce/Law student at Monash University and Plan member, Linda is passionate about women’s & children’s rights, particularly interested in the interplay between body image & social media"

Tafadzwa Zishiri - A Bachelor of Arts student at Deakin University and WomenDeliver member, Taff is passionate about human rights, particularly interested in the the promotion of gender equity & keen to create a society that revolves around more positive body image perceptions"

Chifundo Ngwale - A third year student at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and WAGGGs member, Chifundo is passionate about gender equality, sexual reproductive health rights as well as youth & women empowerment."

Elsa Sullivan Gbenyo - Currently studying for a Masters in Education, Elsa is a French teacher & personal tutor, who also volunteers on leadership & gender equality for World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). She is passionate about ending body shaming"

Swarnima Bhattacharya - Associated with the Harvard Program for Asia International Relations with a focus on women’s health, Swarnima is the founder of TheaCare, a hyperlocal health coaching service for women. She is also an Impact Officer for Global Shapers New Delhi and a WomenDeliver member."

Lina Lopez - Currently studying for her Master in Women & Gender Studies of the Erasmus Mundus program of the European Commission and a WomenDeliver member, Lina is an activist for women’s rights & body governance, passionate about gender equality"
