How to exfoliate
Is it good to exfoliate? We think so. For most of us, exfoliation is a key step in our skincare routine. It’s not just great for your face, either: exfoliating skin on your whole body is just as important to keep it happy, smooth and radiant. It’s like giving your body a well-deserved hand to help clear away its dead skin, making way for younger cells to come through. But with so many exfoliating methods out there, how do you know which one is for you? Here’s our advice on how to get it right.

Looking for guidance on how to exfoliate?
There are a few good methods for exfoliating, but one of our favourites is using an exfoliating body wash – like our Gentle Exfoliating Nourishing Body Wash – to wave goodbye to dead skin

A loofah is a great tool for everyday exfoliation.
The golden rule of exfoliating is not to rub too hard. You shouldn’t need a loofah, the exfoliating beads are effective enough to get the job done. So be gentle and use a light touch to massage your skin

Pay attention to dry areas.
You know those body parts that are particularly prone to dryness, such as your knees and elbows? Exfoliating could be the secret to banishing that dryness by helping to lift off the dead skin cells and allowing your moisturiser to work effectively

Are you a fan of tan?
Do you find that colour from tanning lotion sticks to dry skin or appears patchy? Then exfoliators could be your new best friends. Using an exfoliator before you tan can help to smooth out rough, dry areas – helping the colour to be absorbed evenly

Be gentle
If you’re a fan of our classic Beauty Bar, then why not try Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Cream Bar for an added skin treat?

Have sensitive skin?
It’s still important to exfoliate, but take much more care when doing so. A washcloth, mild cleanser and warm water will help you reveal your glowing new skin without causing irritation
