The Confident Me school resources are designed to help every student in your school develop positive body confidence. Schools have a vital role to play in creating a supportive and uplifting educational environment that helps children value how they see and feel about themselves.
By challenging narrow and idealised notions of appearance, schools can show the power of celebrating children’s talents, personalities and differences. Plus, teaching social and emotional skills such as tolerance, empathy and kindness can help to build self-esteem in children, as well as confidence and resilience.
Both the single lesson and five lesson teacher and educator resources have been created in partnership with experts from the Dove Self-Esteem Project. Plus, they’ve been proven effective in building body confidence in young people.
Your school may already be doing activities that include confidence training, or it may be an issue that hasn’t been tackled before. Either way, Confident Me is designed to help your school on its journey of teaching confidence. By taking some action, no matter how small, you can help improve attitudes in your school.
So, if you’re wondering how to improve body confidence in schools, we have created six training videos to help teachers and educators present this content in the classroom.
