From her accent to her looks, Karen initially struggled to fit into any mould upon arriving in the US. However, as she grew and gained confidence in her unique beauty, she became determined to help others achieve the same self-acceptance.

She authored "The Beauty of Different," a book on global beauty, and developed a photography project inspiring readers to discover their uniqueness. Karen also serves as a Dove self-esteem educator, conducting workshops for young people in Texas to foster their confidence.
