Travelling to other countries and seeing the beauty that existed in different forms around the world allowed her to understand and appreciate her own beauty more. Now she expresses herself with colour, wearing fabrics and patterns from her travels. She believes that her most beautiful moment was when she was pregnant for the first time. Watching her body change made her realise its beauty. Now a mother of three, she sees the beauty in her children and in being their mother.

Growing up in Indonesia, Annisa saw only one view of beauty; she dressed and looked like the other girls around her. It wasn’t until she experienced first-hand how other cultures celebrated different body shapes, skin colours and fashion that she realised how diverse beauty can be.
I learned that beauty is from the heart, it’s all about kindness. Your skin colour or texture doesn’t make you beautiful, as long as you smile from your heart you are beautiful.
